Is it just me, or is 98.9% of the population becoming more and more pessimistic as the days go by? Whatever happened to the bright and shiny city I've come to know? Well, I've got a solution. Go pick up a copy of the first season of Californication. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. The show stars David Duchovny as a divorced father, struggling writer, and a male hustler. (Not lower-east side kind of a hustler, more of an undercover hustler, who keeps a blog and drinks non- fat lattes and drives a Porsche.) Seriously. Hello optimism, goodbye negativity. It's got everything good television is about: sex, and literature. Follow Duchovny down the path of a different kind of self-righteousness, a path aptly named Hollywood Boulevard.
Until tomorrow.
