I bought Jordan a nice little lingerie set from Nectar Lingerie in Fort Langley, so I was looking forward to giving him his own dessert for the couple days before the actual day arrived. I knew that he was taking care of the dinner plans and he cracked under my pressure and told me we were going to one of my favorite restaurants, Chill Winston. He tried to make reservations for us twice and both times he was calmly told that they simply do not make reservations. What the hell, right? We might as well go earlier to get a table two and things will be fine. Little did we know, Chill Winston was participating in a "non-valentine's day dinner." Perfect. Just fucking perfect. They didn't think to mention this on the phone when Jordan was so clearly making a reservation for a couple on Valentine's day? That would be the easy thing to do, I guess. So we take a seat at a table that is no bigger around then a frisbee, I kid you not, and take a look at their menu. The titles of the drinks on the menu included: The "It's not you, it's me", and the "Eat me." Glorious. Nothing on their menu really appealed to us, so we finally came to the conclusion that maybe this just isn't for us. We ordered two martini's, and a shrimp cocktail to hold us over until we found a suitable alternative to the evening. Seeing that I go to school in Gastown, I'm aware of most of the restaurants in the general vicinity. I walk by the Transcontinental Restaurant on a daily basis, and I've always wanted to try that out, so naturally it was where we ultimately decided to go. The decor was nice, nothing too spectacular, and the place was packed. They seated us at a table that was probably three inches larger in size than what C.W. offered. We tossed around the idea of going somewhere else but it was already around 9p.m. so it was just going to have to work. I ordered the "ultimate mac n' cheese" and Jordan ordered his traditional BBQ chicken burger. The food was horrid. Absolutely. The service also wasn't that great. I'll save you the little details, paint yourself a nice little picture if you'd like. We got back to our apartment around 10:30 and had chocolate fondue and Jordan, well, he throughouly enjoyed his present.
As for the rest of the weekend, it was filled with cramming for a History final, and finishing a Marketing Project. I firmly believe in procrastination these days, apparently.
Today has been pretty damn swell. I feel fairly confident about my presentation in Marketing this morning and in about half an hour, get to write a Final and head home. I did get my Editorial Photo shoot photo's back, so I'll post a few tasty treats for you.
Well, it's review time, and John Mayer Trio is going to serenade me through the rest of the day.
